President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed the law No.2285-d "On State Regulation of Activities for the Organization and Conducting of Gambling". The official confirmation is located on the website of the Verkhovna Rada.

Earlier, many experts said that the law would be vetoed by the president and returned to the Verkhovna Rada for revision, since several contradictions were found in the text after the vote in the Verkhovna Rada in the second reading.

Thus, the text states that the formation of the competition commission for the selection of members of the Commission for the Regulation of Gambling will be dealt with both the Cabinet of Ministers and the relevant committee of the Verkhovna Rada. Also, in the final text of the bill, was introduced the norm that casinos can be opened not only in five-star hotels, but also in four-star hotels.

Deputy from the political party “Golos” Yaroslav Zheleznyak commented on the president's decision on his Facebook page:

"The President signed the law on gambling business. Even with a blatant mistake with the appointment of a commission. Even with the presence of casinos in 4-star hotels ... Not the best a decision."
