Revenue from the lottery sector in Denmark for the first three months through March 31, inclusive, increased by 0.8% to 1.23 billion Danish Crowns ($179.6 million), where 640 million Crowns came from the operator Danske Lotteri Spil.
The global cancellation of sporting events from mid-March was one of the reasons for the drop in revenues in other industries, but fantasy sports company Swush reported an increase of 2.1 million Crowns in contributions. It should be noted that Denmark is the first country to have adopted nationwide quarantine measures since 13 March. Tax volume from Danske Spil also fell 6.7%, while fees fell 12.5%.
It is also known about a slight increase in staff costs for Danske Spil and an increase in external costs to 173.8 million Crowns due to additional investment in IT infrastructure. The sharp increase in financial costs led the operator to an increase in total costs to 31.8 million Crowns.
