The Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine has released the draft of Artificial Intelligence Development Strategy until 2030. According to it, Ukraine aims to enter the top three countries in terms of AIimplementation.
The project was developed in collaboration with international partners, government institutions, businesses, and the professional community, reports GamingPost citing the Ministry’s press office.
AI will be widely used in sphere of defense, education, and business. Plans include the creation of a national infrastructure—AI Factory—and a national language model (LLM).
The Ministry also announced the launch of the Diia.AI service, which will help users to find services and to fill in forms automatically. By December 2027, they plan to launch the “AI for Business”. Als0 by this term they want to provide support in implementing of AI technologies to at least 200 SMEs .
By June 2028, 200 enterprises are expected to undergo testing in the “Sandbox for AI and Blockchain Solutions” service.
“We want the number of Ukrainian AI companies to quadruple—to 1,000 (…) We plan to provide startups with computing power and help small businesses integrate AI into their processes,” the press office said.
Another point of the plan is to organize and hold a series of hackathons and innovative solution competitions. By December 2028, the goal is to hold four events per year and implement at least 12 solution prototypes. At that point, acceleration programs and grant tools for AI startups are also expected to be launched.
Comments on the published strategy and plan can be submitted until April 14 inclusive.
Recently Ukrainians have chosen the name for the national LLM—their large language model will be called “Siaivo“ (which means “Glow”).
