Bookmakers associate with global sports governing bodies, clubs, athletes, sponsors and broadcasters. They are boycotting social media to stop promoting racial discrimination in the sports betting sector.

The social media sports boycotts will begin at 15:00 on April 30 and end at noon on May 3. During this time, the boycott participants will stop posting content or updates on the platforms Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Linkedin, YouTube, Snapchat and Tik Tok. The promotion will take place under the hashtag #NoRoomForRacism.

The boycott was joined by the governing bodies of UEFA, the Premier League, LTA, as well as the Rugby Association of England, Scottish Football, UK Athletics and the Gallagher Premier League. Global sponsors Barclays, Budweiser, Adidas and Cazoo will also attend.

The Mansion Group has publicly confirmed its affiliation with English football partners Bristol City, Newcastle United and Millwall FC. Dana Boker, Head of Integrated Marketing at MansionBet, said: "We support our partners and all football leagues in their fight against racism. As a sign of respect for the clubs we sponsor and their players, we are proud to join this movement."

The bookmaker Smarkets also stated support of the boycott: “This is an important issue, and it requires the real involvement of larger companies that operate on social networks. We must all do more together to combat discrimination on our platforms.”
