I like fulltilt a lot more then stars but can still qualify for the stars 100% deposit bonus. What would you do with your 1000 if it was you to grind up the stakes. (much better tournament player)

If you are a new player on pokerstars you can of course get the 100% deposit bonus.

As for the bankroll management. If you had $ 1000 you should play $ 20 SNGs

I’m thinking that the best way would be to sit at multiple ring games and play your hand honestly with minimum bluffing. That’s what I did starting out playing poker and did alright with it. I’ve been trying to employ some more advanced deception techniques lately, and while the do work occasionally, i’m still not making as much as i did playing honest hands. What would you recommend as the safest and easiest way to play profitably?

at the lowest limits playing abc poker is definitely the way to go…bluffing is good as long as you have narrowed down which players would be willing to fold and if the situation allows for it…

pay very close to your image…do you believe that your opponent believes that you could bluff that spot…

I’m looking for a book that helps with online poker play Texas Hold’em No Limit Tournament play, Cash Games, and SitnGo’s. I’m not a new player but I feel if I had some advice from the pros I could be a great player. I want to hit that next level with my poker game.

I’m good at maths and it occurred to me now that i have a few months with nothing to do i should use this to try and make money with online poker. I’ve played with my family before, but usually with play money and not to a very high standard. I can work out the probabilities of a hand winning and stuff, but i am aware there’s a lot more to it, including analyzing the way players bet and the psychology of it, so does anyone know of a good book that can help me learn some of that stuff. Specifically, I’d like to learn how to win at low-limit tables (like .50/ or lower), and take the money off the players which i assume are quite bad who play on those tables.

So basically I want a book on limit hold’em poker strategy designed for consistently taking small amounts of money from weak players. Can anyone reccomend anything?

Depends what games you’re playing exactly, but here’s what I’ve heard is good:
Super System 1 & 2 (Doyle Brunson)
David Sklansky’s Theory of Poker and Hold Em Poker (Sklansky is consider THE expert on anything poker, especially in regards to theory)
Internet Texas Hold Em (Matthew Hilger)
The Complete Book of Hold Em Poker (Gary Carson)
Hold Em Excellence: From Beginner to Winner (Lou Krieger)
Winning Low Limit Hold Em (Lee Jones; this one has been recommended to me many times since I also play low limits)

Also, just looking up strategy in general will give you a lot of great tips. There are lots of great articles out there, many by professional players, completely free.

What kind of cash game strategy do you use? Do you play tight and only play good cards? Do you have more chaces of winning if you play with a 6 player table or a 9?

Pro’s prefer 6 player tables. I normally play lose on the high stakes tables and tight on the low stakes tables. On the low stakes tables, people take chances a lot more because they do not lose as much, thus more fishing and bad plays.
