Question by Derek: how can i stop playing online poker?
I want to stop playing online poker. Every year (for the last 8 years) I win more than I lose so it’s kinda hard to stop. I want to stop mostly because of the time it takes up and the inconsistencies of luck.

It’s addicting and I want to stop. So far I’m up $ 600 since ’09. So how can I not be addicted to online poker?

Uninstall the program. Nice that you are up. Just find something else to do with your time.

Not really an addictive personality or major gambling problem…..but when i get bored, i just find that i enjoy playing online poker more than anything else. Good enough that i break even in long run, so i’m not losing much money, but its the time and opportunity cost that bothers me.

yaho has a free online poker game that bets fake money so its like betting except without actually losing or winning money

I just lost in two weeks what I spent the past twelve months making in online poker (texas hold em). I have finally come to the realization that this game is ridiculous and I’m just wasting my time. What else can I do with all the new free time I will have going forward?

Play the free tables, play with your friends, and learn how to play better. You’re losing money because you’re not good and you’re either bluffing too much, not reading your opponents’ hands, or are joining rooms above your skill level. Stay away from the no limit tables until you get better.
