Question by born2survive: Hand not paid as it should have been on a major online poker site. What to do?
Was playing in a tournament at one of the biggest online poker sites and didn’t get paid as I should have done. I won the hand yet the pot was split. I was playing real money. The tounament was a 20 seater and cost $ 9 to enter. Anyone else had this happen to them or an idea of what I should expect back from the poker site in compensation?
Please note this has been checked by numerous people and the mistake is 100%. I had to replay the hand 3 times myself and show it to 2 other poker players to believe it myself. It is presently being investigated by the poker site. Just not sure what to expect from them?
The flop was AD, 9D, 4C, 4S, 9S. I had A5 he had A2. As you can see no flush or straight draw was out. We both had two pairs Aces and 9′s but the highest kicker (5th card) was my 5.

I suspect that you misunderstood the hand.

Even the smallest and most basic poker sites are capable of figuring out which hand wins. There is no advantage to the site in ripping someone off with a split pot in a tournament that cost $ 9 to enter.

Most of the decent poker sites like Poker Stars and Full Tilt, have dealt over a billion hands. It just isn’t conceivable at this point that the computer cannot figure out the winner in a pot.

My guess is that you misunderstand kicker rules.

UPDATE:

Based on the hand you explained you would be correct, the five would play. If you have the exact hand data, email it to support@whateverpokersite.com and see what they say.

Honestly if you are correct in what the cards were, I cannot imagine a major site like Full Tilt or Poker Stars making that kind of mistake. So I suggest if you are 100% sure that the mistake happened, you pick a better site to play on.

Paradise Poker has €2.20 buy-in, but that’s the only site I’ve used so far.

Yeah, I thought it was a loss at the poker tables when the US Government passed that law, and I still think it.
So far, it looks like Pokerstars, with a $ 0.10 NL Hold’em buy-in, and no fee. Monday 06:00.
Correction, the above tournament is not Sit & Go, sorry.

I had to chime in after reading your question.

I’d like to state something that is obvious to many people, but perhaps not to you. These sites were created for ONE REASON ONLY – that is to TAKE your money, not to give you any. You can get the best promotions in the world and you will still end up PAYING them for your entertainment on their site.

Well as far as bonuses I would have to say Full Tilt, there current bonus is 100% deposit match upto $ 600 with bonus code OPA600, some sites do offer bigger bonuses but offer less in alot of other areas than Full Tilt. Most online poker sites seem to have a blind structure that forces you to risk your all your chips fairly early in the tournament just to keep from blinding out. I’m looking for a site that has a blind structure more like a WPT, PPT or WSOP event. Poker Stars (http://www.pokerstars.com/?source=moderngrinder.com) Sunday Million is the closest I’ve found giving you 10,000 in starting chips, 25/50 starting blinds and 15 minute levels. The Problem is that it’s only once a week and would like to find a site that has more frequent deep stack tournaments,

full tilt and pokerstars both have freerolls for money.but you have to win like 2 tournaments to get the cash.
