Question by NotBornYesterday: Free software to record an online poker game?
I have seen where people have posted videos on the web showing an online poker game they are playing. A buddy of mine said he knew of some kind of software that would record from the desktop, but he couldn’t remember what it was called.

Does anybody know of this? Or have you used anything like this to record a poker game as you were playing it?

Do you mean that you what to record games on your PC?
If so, what you need is a screen video capture program.
Try to use a screen recorder called Total Screen Recorder

I like playing poker online, mostly at pokerstars, and I was wondering if there is a program or something, that you can get that will keep track of the information for me. For example, track my earnings per different tables, and different kinds of tourneys, and log how many hours I’ve spent, and so forth?

you should play zyanga poker on facebook it tracks how much money you have, weekly turneys regular turneys etc.

I started playing poker about 2 months ago and I started playing in online tournaments about a month ago.

I’m still learning but above is my recent last 8~10 tournaments records.

I know I’m not good, bottom 25% category player but am I doing so terrible?

Well im playing in MTTs that only cost less than $ 10 usually(mostly $ 2~4 MTT) and i barely make money cuts which only pays me around what i paid for to participate or slightly above.

I hope to make final table around once a month at least, ill be playing at least 60 MTTs in a month.
well im making money cut around 10% but recently its almost 30%

First, that’s not a terribly big sample size. Second, MTT’s are the worst way to build your bankroll because there are so many variables. To win consistently in MTT’s, you have to play tight aggressive in the first stages, and that is, wait to play premium hands, and if you want to play marginal hands, wait til you have position AND no big raises in front of you. Middle stages you can pick your spots to buy pots, because everyone will be worried about the bubble! Still keep a tight table image, though. In late rounds, even big stacks can take huge hits to their chip count if they aren’t careful. Don’t be a calling station.

Throughout the tourney, you’ll have to get lucky, catch a few suckouts, and probably have your shares of ups and downs. And also remember that poker is very streaky, both online and live. It’s not uncommon to cash in several tourneys in a row, but you can also go weeks without seeing a dime.

If you are playing mostly MTT’s, don’t risk more than 3% of your bankroll on one tourney. And don’t feel the need to make up money that you lost elsewhere.

you can record them by using:
Hypercam 2
Zdsoft
CamStudio

For commentary you should record your voice using a microphone then add it to your video. I would use windows movie maker.
