Despite the protest written into your question, I highly recommend you play the TurboPoker program on its toughest levels. You can play head to head or at a final table of ten or you can face 5000 very tough robotic opponents. It’s the only cheap way to learn to play strong poker.
However, since you appear to have a death wish, go online and play No-Limit or Limit Hold ‘em or 7 Card Stud or whatever at stakes of $ 100-$ 200 in a ring (non-tournament) game. You’ll get all the teaching you want. Only about 60% will be ‘expert’ or professional players and the rest just have a lot of money, but they’ll all give you more than you can handle, at least for a while. Hope you’re a millionaire, but keep about $ 90 aside so after the humans clean you out, you can learn the trade for a lot less with the robots. Good luck, you’ll need it.

Well you cant find free stuff nowadays it doesn’t matter if you are playing poker online or shopping at Walmart… If you win any real money on a free tournament/table there will be a lot of restrictions that make it impossible to cash out and if you are good enough to complete those requirements… what are you doing playing for free?
If you want to earn real money then play with real money, just don’t go crazy… you are not going to become a millionaire in 2 days of poker playing.
The most important thing to do is find a good place that will pay you when you win.

Its Illegal to gamble outside of certain areas. Like casinos for instance. I really dont think your going to find an online poker that uses real money. Plus, poker games need to be in casinos for the fact that the game can be tampered with.

I believe that Full Tilt is the safest poker site to play at. I believe that Poker Stars is on the up and up as well. Most of the other smaller sites may be iffy and I would for sure stay away from Ultimate Bet/Absolute Poker.
Poker sites make a lot of money. They don’t need to cheat players by rigging the cards or stacking the deck in such a way that certain players lose and other players win. In fact, poker sites don’t really care who wins and who loses. They earn money on every hand played because they take money out of each pot.
On the other hand, the sites Ultimate Bet and Absolute Poker have been associated with cheating by employees who had special versions of the program that allowed them to see all of the player’s cards. The Kahnawake Gaming Commission, which regulated these sites, did an investigation and found that a number of people (including one founder of Ultimate Bet, Russ Hamilton) were involved in this scam.
You should always be careful when making any type of financial transaction online. In the case of online poker, I believe it is possible to play in a straight game, but I would stick to the bigger well known and well respected sites.
You can use the link below to sign up at Full Tilt and get a bonus of up to $ 600 on your first deposit.

Legalizing online poker? Will WSOP online site every offer real money games?
Question by SavannahW: Legalizing online poker? Will WSOP online site every offer real money games?
With the pending ruling for legalization of online poker (wether its tomm or 5 years) what effect will it have will the big boys FTP, PS just continue to dominate even more or will sites like WSOP swoop in and real money games and take over. What will happen any predictions??? Any real news from this?

It’s tough to say. This is a very open ended question subject to opinion and conjecture.
Harrah’s (the owners of the WSOP franchise) has been positioning themselves to become a factor in the online poker space. They hired a former executive from Party Poker to run their online operations. There are rumors about Zynga becoming a huge presence as well. Party Poker paid 9 figure fines to wipe their hands clean of their wrongdoings in the past presumably to lead the way for their comeback in the US market. FTP and Stars have been very active in the Poker Player Alliance (theppa.org) and helped markup the bill that overturns the UIGEA and will hopefully legalize (and regulate and provide tax revenue from) online gambling.
Predictions? There will be another poker boom, followed by a consolidation just like there was in 2003-2006. I think FTP, Stars, Party and Zynga will continue be the big players (although Zynga may have a very rough transition in becoming a real money site). I don’t know much about Harrah’s goals, but I think they will need to buy an existing poker network to be a player.

Answer by DSRanger1
No. Moreover, many of the online poker rooms, because they require you to download software to participate, are installing spyware on your PC, making you subject to potential identity theft. The only way to win is not to play.

Do i need a credit card to play online real money poker?
Question by Jason: Do i need a credit card to play online real money poker?
Is it possible to transfer ur funds from your bank to an online poker.net site without the use of a credit?
if so, what online poker sites allow this?
Best answer:
Answer by Dwstin
Most sites like pokerstars, full tilt, and cake, for example have multiple deposit options. At the former and the second, instant echeck deposits are possible. Just ur bank account, ssn, and private info are needed. The latter, cakepoker dot com facilitates non-cc deposits via online wallets like quicktender and ewalletxpress. Those so called e-wallets can likewise be funded by ach transfer directly from a bank account…
(I see u say at dot net sites… from what i understand, most dot net sites are play money and hence dont need deposits since there is no real funds in play)
