Question by Jay: Does the Peppermill Casino, in Reno Nv, Comp drinks for video poker players? If not, what casino does?
I am staying at the peppermill, and can’t find an answer. I know all Vegas casino’s comp, but in Atlantic City they do not. Please Help.

Despite the protest written into your question, I highly recommend you play the TurboPoker program on its toughest levels. You can play head to head or at a final table of ten or you can face 5000 very tough robotic opponents. It’s the only cheap way to learn to play strong poker.

However, since you appear to have a death wish, go online and play No-Limit or Limit Hold ‘em or 7 Card Stud or whatever at stakes of $ 100-$ 200 in a ring (non-tournament) game. You’ll get all the teaching you want. Only about 60% will be ‘expert’ or professional players and the rest just have a lot of money, but they’ll all give you more than you can handle, at least for a while. Hope you’re a millionaire, but keep about $ 90 aside so after the humans clean you out, you can learn the trade for a lot less with the robots. Good luck, you’ll need it.

There are a few out there. One thing you can do is go to http://nlop.com. They are a site that has constant tournaments and shows a lot of advertising. They never ever ever have anything but free tournaments, and you can win prizes as big as main event seats at the WSOP (they gave away 12 or so last year). You usually have to qualify by playing on their site a bit to get seats into their main event tournies, but it’s all free.

Another thing you can do is go to http://wsopfreerolls.com. They are a regular site that offers freeroll tournaments a few times daily where you can win $ 10 or so if you win and get free entries into tournies with $ 1000 prize pools, and you don’t have to deposit anything to play in them.

I’ve seen a few clips of pro poker players that are just disgusted with online playes winning or buying into a pro tournament and their play is just awful and sometimes by sheer luck, the online players wins money. Should some respect be shown to actual pros….that if you’re stepping into their world, learn the rules, the odds…don’t just bet goofy and hope for a hand…actually know what you hold and know how to bet….

Pros love online players. At the end of the day the online explosion has brought a massive influx of dreadful players into the game which has given many of the huge pay days. They may be exasperated by some of the hyper maniac players, but in the long term good pros will always come out on top.

Question by kevandcambria: Probably a dumb question, but at a casino, do poker players usually wear sunglasses, etc. to not give “tells”?
I’ve been contemplating moving from online play to the casinos in Atlantic City and wondering if I should bring sunglasses or whatever to try aznd hide any tells I might have,….but I don’t want to look like an idiot so I was wondering if anyone else actually does this?

since you are talking about a group of people that all play in the same arena, i would imagine that the number of winning and losing players is almost identical when talking about online poker alone

however, when discussing whether they are winning or losing players overall, including live play as well as online, there is definitely a difference…i would imagine in that situation that there are slightly more losers than winners, because when you play live there is more to the game that people who play online exclusively don’t get to experience and therefore don’t handle as well
