Q&A: How do people win millions on online poker?
Question by Paul B: How do people win millions on online poker?
I’ve been trying to find a website that allows online gambling but keep getting a message saying that online gambling (at least in the US) is illegal. My question is then how do players I see on TV claim to win millions? Is there a website I don’t know about? Is there a loophole I don’t see?

Possibly, it depends on what the website’s definition of “free” is. If you really want to play though, go to http://www.pogo.com . No money is ever exchanged unless you buy a pay account with them and you can play all you want without winning or losing any real cash.

Non-gambling Poker tournaments for people under 21?
Question by JAK: Non-gambling Poker tournaments for people under 21?
I’m 16 and poker is my favorite sport. But it is hard to practice my poker playing Yahoo! Games. You don’t get a real reaction like you would in a real tournament. I play every chance I get with any available opponent (non-gambling games of course). I was just wondering if there were any non-gambling tournaments in the U.S.A. that would allow people under 21 to play?

I am not sure about16 years old, but there are a lot of charity poker tournaments around that do let 18 years old players.
Try Yahoo search for your area looking for “Charity Poker Tournaments (YourCity)” and see what you get. There are several here that allow young players where alcohol is not served.
Good luck!

Can you play poker for money at a casino with people at your same “skill” level?

Question by Captain Cab: Can you play poker for money at a casino with people at your same “skill” level?
I love poker, and I would like to try playing for cash at a big table with others. However, I couldn’t hold up agaisnt those masters. Is there anyway to play poker as a beginner with others at a casino?

Answer by Jorge
Not officially. There are no tables specified to players based on play level . The closest you can get – and I highly recommend this – is to start off at the lowest level table available. If there ae $ 1-$ 2 tables – go there. $ 2-$ 4 0 then go there next. Start at the lowest betting minumum tables and once you feel comfortable in your game play then move on up to the next level. In poker the amount of the bet IS the skill level. Take your time and don’t get in over your head. If it works – great. If it doesn’t – let it go. Enjoy yourself!

The last one I held had 27 people. I suggest getting one of those tournament programs which can be downloaded from the internet. In your search engine list poker tournament software and chose the one that will work best for you.
You can program the chip colors and amount. You can list how long you want the tournament it will last and it will suggest a blind set up.

Q&A: While government wages war on online poker, how many people without a pot to piss in bought lottery tickets?

Question by Patches O’Houlihan: While government wages war on online poker, how many people without a pot to piss in bought lottery tickets?
Hmmm, this government jihad against online poker isn’t because government isn’t getting a cut or anything, is it? It’s just a coincidence that state-sponsored gambling gets a thumbs up when poor people buy lottery tickets while the kids go without new shoes, right?
