if you want to perhaps turn 100 to 1000 through solid TAG poker, which is the best route to build your BR. do most online pros just play cash games? can playing sngs do it to? i’m thinking MTTs would need a higher BR….

I wouldn’t really consider MTT’s. Even great players will have ridiculously long dry streaks in large tournaments, so if you’re looking for a relatively steady income, it’s not a great place to start.

Between ring games and SNGs, it’s really up to the player. Different players have different strengths, and some suit one format over the other. A typical professional gambler will steer towards ring games, but there are certainly plenty of people making decent money at nothing but SNGs.

FYI, I started with basically nothing at one of the major poker sites (I was on it playing play money games to see if I liked it and they deposited $ 5 into my real money account) and built up a significant bankroll (a LOT more than $ 1,000) playing almost exclusively 18 player SNGs. This was mainly because $ 5 is not enough to even sit at a $ .01/.02 ring game, but it’s 4 buy-ins at $ 1 SNGs, and once I got going I just stuck with what worked.

I’m an experienced poker player and going to vegas for my first time…I’ve read up and am aware of all the poker tournaments down there, but I AM LOOKING FOR PERSONAL OPINIONS of those who have actually played in the daily tournaments to decide which ones are the best to play in any buyin range up to $ 1500. Also some opinions on the poker rooms to visit based on fish to pro experience.Thanks for the time and answers in advance.

I don’t know when you are coming to Vegas, but in July they have a good series at the Orleans casino, they range on the buy-ins from 330-550, and the main event is only 1000 dollar buy-in. The rounds are 1 hour long and they start you out with good chips, I like to play in this series, and you have a ton of room to play, you can go to there web site and see for yourself. Also the Bellagio has a 1k buy-in, first places pays out 28-30k and has some top players who come out for this one. The Bellagio and the mirage have very nice rooms and they draw a lot of the top players in the area.

On facebook there is Zanger poker, and also if u just type it in on google you can get it.
you don’t have to play with real money, it gives you loads of chips for free.
if you want more then you can pay real money for them, but you don’t really need to pay!!

I am going down to Atlantic City in a week or 2 and want to play some tournaments. What are the best daily tournaments to play? Basically I am looking for tournaments that aren’t crap shoots where the blinds go up way to fast and there are a lot of all ins decently early in the tournament. I am also looking for the best places to play 1/2NL. Thanks in advance.

I always have enjoyed the rooms at house of blues in Showboat. Trump Taj is okay, but sometimes they buys in were way too high for my budget.

No Limit Hold Em, try royalvegaspoker or absolutepoker, i find them to be great poker places, make sure you play no limit though if you want to go all in.

Really tired of driving down to Atlantic City just to play in tournament. I do know that table games have been approved for all casinos in Pennsylvania, but I haven’t heard of any of them being added yet. Does anyone know any Casinos in the Philadelphia area that is currently offering Poker Tournaments/Cash Games? Anywhere within 50 minutes or so would be fine.
