Question by nutstrut: As a poker player, whats the best way to find a sponsor or backer for tournaments?
I’ve won several online tournaments, (with as many as 5600 in the field) as well as a few live ones. I think i can make it on the next level.

Few myspace.com friends want to play some Texas Hold’em with each other just for fun. Problem is we can’t find a site that allows you to create your own game and make it private with play money. Seen a couple with real cash but they didn’t have an option for play cash.

I know Sharkscope has stats for sit-n-goes, and Official Poker Rankings has stats for multi-table tournaments. But, I was trying to find a site (besides PokerEdge) that will give you the statistics of cash games.

Highstakesdb.com provides full tracking of all of the high stakes cash games. Other than this you will probably have to rely on pokertracker for stats

I”m looking at tournaments from full tilt poker and first place prize is a little over $ 137,000. Should you file it? How much will they take? How can they find out if you win prizes that big?

You can get a cheap one at any place that sells board and card games, like Walmart or Target. If you want a high class casino style one, that’s the type of thing that’s going to be both expensive, and that you’d have to special order.

i found that going on weekdays at about 10:00pm is best for me. many of the players that are there during the work day are really strong, although the ones that brag that they dont have to work are usually weaker.

anyway, im looking for the time of the week when there are the most catalysts (players that straddle every UTG) and loose players (players that seemingly want to play every rag card they get and regularly call pot sized bets chasing draws). these are without a doubt the most profitable tables. when do these situations arise at your casino?

i hear through the grapevine about tournaments in teh area, but when i try to find more info online, i cant find anything, is there a place where local bars and places put up their poker tourney info online?

Bartenders know stuff like that.. Where there is any form of gambling.. ask around there. Go back to the grapevine and follow up. Poker players will spread the word. More players bigger the purse.

im not sure about europe or uk but pocketfives.com is a online site that tracks stats for 4 major poker sites that might be a start
