Question by W D: Where can I find a poker tournament event near where I live?
I love playing poker, and have been playing online for the last couple years with house money. Now I want to find a live tournament near where I live. Where can I go to find information about tournaments in my area? I can’t seem to find any good sites online. Thanks in advance for your response.

best place i would recommend, would be any casino within your area..or maybe there is a poker club or something like that in your area that has meetings you could try that out as well…i would also suggest getting together with some friends and playing home games, either a cash game or tournament style. but since your looking for tournaments, the casinos would be a good place to start, considering a lot of casinos hold daily poker tournaments.

Need Casino Poker Chips for Local Neighborhood Event?

Question by Brian Garvin: Need Casino Poker Chips for Local Neighborhood Event?
I was wondering if I need the Denominational Poker Chips and are those required, or can I purchase any type of Casino Poker Chips like the Barack Obama Poker Chips? I’m asking this because I’m wondering if the Denominational Poker Chips are required so everyone can keep track of exactly how much money you have in the pot?

huh?

Get any chips you want. Even the cheap plastic ones. Whites are worth 1, Red = 5, Blue = 10.

You make the rules beforehand, and write them down and make sure every table has a copy.

Why is the WSOP main event final table played in November?

Question by sooners83: Why is the WSOP main event final table played in November?
Why is the WSOP main event final table played in November? More than 65 days after the day it gets down to 9? Is it going to be live on TV or something?

Best answer:

Answer by TheDarkLord
ESPN wanted them to do it, so they can show all the other event from that year. So that when the time comes for the November 9 to play ESPN would have caught up with them.

Basically, so espn can show the Main Event final table just days after it happens.
