Where is the best bargain if I like to play poker in casinos?
Question by Paris P: Where is the best bargain if I like to play poker in casinos?
I have a five day vacation from work coming up fast in August and I want to go somewhere for two or three days on a budget… I love poker and casinos, and have about $ 400 to spend on the gambling and and $ 350 for the flight and hotel… where is the best bargain when it comes to casino trips? Namely cities, hotels, casinos and flights. I don’t really want to rent a car either.
(Been to Vegas, AC, and live near Detroit, so i’ve seen a fair share of casinos).
Thanks!

Soaring Eagle casino in Mt Pleasant…easy to get to, friendly & won’t cost a bundle to stay in the area-even at the casino itself (although the surrounding motels are ’bout half the price) . Prob only ’bout 2 hr drive from Det area. Only casino in Mt Pleasant, but I’ve been to vegas and AC and if you want to play poker mainly in thecard room, its a winner…

Online Poker Casino’s?
Question by Sam: Online Poker Casino’s?
Can anyone give me a list of the best Online Poker Casino’s currently allowed to operate within the U.S.? I’m looking for the poker room that the Pro’s use: Tom Dwan, Phil Ivey, Patrick Antonius and the others. Anyone one have a good answer for this question?

Answer by Peyton Brady
There are none that operate from within the U.S. (it is illegal to do so). There are offshore companies that allow U.S. players to play online poker. To my knowledge Ivey and Dwan and the big U.S. pro’s are not playing online anywhere’s. Some of the big pro’s like Phil Galfond moved out of the U.S. so they can play on PokerStars. The best online poker room accepting U.S. players at the moment (in my opinion) is Bodog Poker. More info on Bodog here: http://www.areyouapokerfish.com/bodog-poker-review.html

Osheas on the strip also check out Casino Royale. Downtown there are several but I think the lowest is El Cortez which is a bit off of Freemont.

Does anyone know if there any “Double Or Nothing” poker tournaments in real casinos? I know that there are tournaments like that in on-line casinos, I am looking for offline casino where I can play tournament like that in USA or Canada.

I assume you are talking double or nothing Sit N Gos and as far as I know you won’t find many of those in a casino. I love those tournaments too and was able to build a bankroll just playing those tournaments on PokerStars but I mostly play on Full Tilt now and they don’t have them but I am having positive results in the regular Sit N Gos.

How profitable are casino poker rooms? Do the casino’s compete with each other for poker traffic?
Question by tyzekiel: How profitable are casino poker rooms? Do the casino’s compete with each other for poker traffic?
Just wondering if the casino’s are active about trying to draw a customer base to their poker rooms? I’m’ from washington and I know a lot of the local casino’s have shut down their poker rooms because they are not profitable enough. Cheers for any help.

Years ago, casinos started eliminating poker room because they could make more per hour on a bank(s) of slots. Due to the current popularity, they have grown again and are considered a draw into the casino. However, they themselves are not big money makers and time will tell as the bottom line is scrutinized again.
