Question by Paris P: What is the best casino to play poker at in Atlantic City?
Me and my buddy are pretty solid poker players (amateur, but better than the tourists who only watch on TV), and we are going to visit Atlantic City on either Friday afternoon or Saturday during the day (maybe both). I was just wondering if anyone has any opinions for the best casino?

Which casino has the best limit games, any tournaments on Friday night or Saturday morning, and finally, the best buffet (since we’ll be getting lunch or dinner in AC at some point). Thanks!

Borgota, Tropicana, and Taj Majal are your three best choices … I think Borgata has the best tournaments but you will find day and night tournaments at both with about 150 people. As far as limit games, they all have 2/4, 4/8, 5/10 … trop is famous for their pink chip game of 7.50/15 ,,,, and on the weekend you should be able to find 10/20 or 20/40 if that is what u want.

The NL games are very loose at Borgata … 2/4 limit is loose at any of the above casinos

Buffets … meh .. trop’s is good but is like 18 bucks … never had borgata’s

What I am looking for is a good casino poker trainer software. Something that has the same games as they do in a casino, jacks or better, deuces wild, progressive and so forth. I need one that assumes you don’t know a thing about poker — It’s for my mother that likes to hit the casino from time to time with her friends. She needs to learn the basics and will need to be told what cards are the best ods to choose on each hand.

My friend at work keeps playing poker at the casino.. He asks if i can cover his night shifts sometimes because he is hot playing poker and gives me 0-0 to cover his 4-5 hour shift at work when he is not there.. Should i keep doing this to make money off of him?? Would you guys do it if your boss never found out?

I am throwing a casino night birthday party for my husband. I want it to be fun for our guests. I want my guests to play games but I don’t want to tie anyone down to a table (to deal all night). And I can’t afford to hire dealers. And I don’t think they want to play games all night anyway, so I need ideas on quick and easy games to play.

Kind of like baby shower games. I have awesome prizes but need help with the games.

Try a few rounds of bingo or pokino (pokino is like bingo, only instead of B-12, I-72 etc. the boards are made of a collage of playing cards, so you call out things like, “Queen of Diamonds” or “Two of Hearts” and people mark their boards. You could even try making your own birthday-themed bingo cards.

Try group games like Taboo or Pictionary, but make it casino-themed. Or try Roulette. Everyone can play that..

I’ve been dealing underground games for quite some time now and anytime I go to a casino and watch the dealers there’s nothing they do that I can’t. I’m wondering if I should let my prospective employer know if I have worked underground games?

I doubt that will work, you definitely have to go about getting a license and that usually means a dealing school course. It’s usually around a 90-100 hour credit course and can be found at different places around the country. Here are a few of them…………

Dont say you play poker – thats a given.

Im going to my first casino poker tourney tonite. Is there anything \i should know about? i.e. breaks, ettiquite, if you have to do anything differently than if your just playing online or with friends?

Just make sure you verbalize your actions. Call, raise, fold

The bet is , and you toss in a 0 chip without saying anything, it’s a call, not a raise.

And don’t turn over your cards until you are sure the action is completed.
