Question by Johnny: Where are the best daily poker tournaments in Atlantic City? Also the best 1/2NL games.?
I am going down to Atlantic City in a week or 2 and want to play some tournaments. What are the best daily tournaments to play? Basically I am looking for tournaments that aren’t crap shoots where the blinds go up way to fast and there are a lot of all ins decently early in the tournament. I am also looking for the best places to play 1/2NL. Thanks in advance.

I always have enjoyed the rooms at house of blues in Showboat. Trump Taj is okay, but sometimes they buys in were way too high for my budget.

How do you get in a POKER TOURNEY/SEAT at ATLANTIC CITY or any CASINO?

poker casino

Question by FLy: How do you get in a POKER TOURNEY/SEAT at ATLANTIC CITY or any CASINO?
i kick azz at poker and know id be taking home a nice profit everyday if i played at a casino ( been playing for while now but never at a casino)

so what exactly do you do when you take a trip to atlantic city or any casino when you wanna play poker

each step like

1. where do you buy the chips.. at the table or cashier?

2. where are the poker tournements at in the casinos.. im thinking they have theyre own section but are they usually out on the floor or in the back somewhere?

3. how do you buy in.. do you just sit down at any availible seat? or do you have to register somehwere

4. what kind of tourneys can you play sit n gos? or ring tables?

5. and during the game how do you know how much stack your opponents have .. do you ask em during the game?.. seem like it be hard to tell if they have a large chip count

6. and anything else id need to know when i go to play poker at a casino for the first time

When you go into a casino you go to the poker room.
1.) Register at the desk for the type of game you would like to play. There will be several types (draw, texas hold em, omaha, etc.) with different limits.
2.) If seats are available at the type and limit you request, you will be seated immediately, if not you are put on a list for the next available seat to open or if they start a new table.
3.) you buy in at the table, (unless you are in a tournament) and you must remember at most casinos they will not let you buy more chips during a hand.
4.) what you can bet and and how much is based on the game and the dealer will let you know.
Now for tournament:
1.) Still go to the poker room
2.) Tournament are not run all the time or everyday they will be advertised so you may have to find a casino that is having one.
3.) You buy in at the cage in the poker room for whatever the advertised price is ( this could be as little as $ 100) and you will be given a ticket.
4.) when the tournament is ready to start they will set up tables at random and the rules will be told to everyone.
5.) everyone starts with the same amount of chips and begins play which each table reducing to one player.
6.) these players then meet in the finals at one table, in the rules they will tell you when you can ask for a chip count.

Question by FilipeBR: Are there cheap poker tournaments in Atlantic City?
I’m an online player and i’m used to micro stakes, are there poker tournaments that are $ 30 or less in Atlantic City? I don’t care if it’s in a casino or just a poker hall, i read some discussion threads about people playing $ 20 for a tournament but I can’t find them anywhere.

You can always go to homepokertour.com and sign up. Once you do, you can search home poker tourneys in the area of interest. Even if you don’t play, you can contact members there and I’m sure they can help point you in the right direction. Hope it helps you out.

What is the best casino to play poker at in Atlantic City?

Question by Paris P: What is the best casino to play poker at in Atlantic City?
Me and my buddy are pretty solid poker players (amateur, but better than the tourists who only watch on TV), and we are going to visit Atlantic City on either Friday afternoon or Saturday during the day (maybe both). I was just wondering if anyone has any opinions for the best casino?

Which casino has the best limit games, any tournaments on Friday night or Saturday morning, and finally, the best buffet (since we’ll be getting lunch or dinner in AC at some point). Thanks!

Borgota, Tropicana, and Taj Majal are your three best choices … I think Borgata has the best tournaments but you will find day and night tournaments at both with about 150 people. As far as limit games, they all have 2/4, 4/8, 5/10 … trop is famous for their pink chip game of 7.50/15 ,,,, and on the weekend you should be able to find 10/20 or 20/40 if that is what u want.

The NL games are very loose at Borgata … 2/4 limit is loose at any of the above casinos

Buffets … meh .. trop’s is good but is like 18 bucks … never had borgata’s
