Q&A: What about the Thailand legislation for online poker?

Question by : What about the Thailand legislation for online poker?
What is the real legislation? i know it is illegal but what is the fine? what do they do if they discover me playing online poker on an italian website (hosted in italy)?

Best answer:

Answer by Harmon Cooper
Casino gambling is currently not legal in Thailand, though officials have talked for years about legalizing casinos. In 2005, the Thai Tourism and Sports Minister introduced legislation allowing casinos. The prime minister at the time was cautious about such laws, and called for studies to determine the affect legalized gambling would have on Thai society.
Though there are rumors that they are making it legal but till now it is not legalized.
In your third question I would say that you won’t get a chance of playing on an Italian website as casino websites are banned in Thailand and you can’t open it there.

When those pros enter tournements, they cannot cash out, in a tourny you have to play until there is a winner, you can only by in once and once your chips are gone your eliminated. If they are playing in a cash game, they can buy in mutiple times and cash out at any point. Most of the tournys have by ins that can range form 50 bucks to tens of thousands. Cash games usually just have a minimum buy in.

What differences should a online poker player know about when they go play their first live poker tournament?

online poker tournaments

Question by bigwheels1031: What differences should a online poker player know about when they go play their first live poker tournament?
I am playing my first live tournament today! It isn’t actually for any money just for fun but I still want to learn from it. Does the whole sunglasses and hat deal actually work well at hiding your tells or not?

Best answer:

Answer by Lone Wolf
Live is different than online. The betting will be both more subdued (in general) and explosive.
Yes, sunglasses, etc. can help. Other props can too – a drink, etc. Be careful of nervous/subconscious habits giving you away.
The main thing is your attitude – all tells come from that. Tells are usually more subtle than blatant. More of a feeling than a literal sign. The most successful players do not play a bad hand with a losing attitude, or a winning hand with a winning attitude (except to throw in a red herring – successful playing requires that you be “found out” every now and then – whether bluffing or not). The real trick is to normally play a bluff slightly towards the winning attitude side – a false tell cannot be too obvious – not show as implied but rather left to be inferred by the bluffed. The same holds true for a winning hand – to get the maximum money out of a winning hand the opponents must not be informed but let them discover your slightly weak tell. No discernible change in attitude when playing one or the other is the holy grail of live poker playing.
The majority of hands will be won by luck of the draw and skill in odds/betting amounts.
The rest is figuring out what the other players are up to. Trust your instincts – watch everything every player does, in every situation, to fine tune them.

Question by õ¿õ: Couple of questions about online tournaments and WHAT IS THE DEAL with online poker and Kentucky?
1:I live in Ky and some places like interops poker and cake poker, accept usa players but not from kentucky.
2:Im looking for an online poker site that accepts usa KENTUCKY players that have tournaments for OVER 100k garunteed

Best answer:

Answer by Lone Wolf
There is no federal law against online poker, regardless of recent seizures and shut downs. There is a federal law against sports betting over phones – go figure.

There are several states which have laws against online gambling and Kentucky might well be the strictest. See linked page below for the laws.

POKER: do high stakes players cry about the game being fixed when they play online?

online poker

Question by dave: POKER: do high stakes players cry about the game being fixed when they play online?
(the way players at the low stakes tables do)

also, is there any real reason to think that the integrity of online poker is in question?

Best answer:

Answer by cttg121
Well according to books the most won hand is a single pair, and in online poker you see a lot of bigger hands quite more often. Also, people “seem” to hit runner-runner a lot more. In my personal opinion, online poker isn’t as legit as playing at the casino or home game.

Q&A: We brag about our freedom yet; Why are we the only country that online Poker is illegal?

Question by pompanopete0: We brag about our freedom yet; Why are we the only country that online Poker is illegal?
I have become a criminal at 60+, I play online Poker for real money. Yesterday I won twenty eight cents. Just to prove a point that its not so much the money to me as it is about my freedoms!
I would play for more money but my bank won’t transfer the funds to a poker site.
What do you think about this?

Best answer:

Answer by GamblingMaster
Actually online poker is not illegal in USA. As you already know banks wont let you deposit, but they have a reason. There is law that forbids banks to allow transfers to gambling sites, but there is not law against online gambling, meaning that for you its legal to play.
Now you must be wondering how to deposit and withdraw. There are alternative deposit methods such as all access visa gift cards or echecks, that are proven to work. You can withdraw from poker sites with checks.

Where can I complain about online poker not being fair?

poker online

Question by liar: Where can I complain about online poker not being fair?
Online poker is not fair, it’s rigged and it seems that we, the honest players can’t do anything about it. I want to know if there’s any kind of institution, petition , or something that can help ban online poker. It’s getting way to obvious, we need to stop this HUGE scam.
