Statistically you can win any amount. the question is rather what are your chances of doing so. The higher the limits you play, the more likely you are to win $ 100,000. However, you are just as likely to lose more. Do you have the money to go play stakes such as $ 50/$ 100 ? Even at these stakes you would have to play for a quite a while to be able to get to 100K. You can hit the bad beat jackpot, but that is also unlikely to happen.
Obviously, winning $ 100,000 is very possible. The question is, “how likely is it?”
If you want to win lots of money playing poker, you need to play a lot of poker. My recommendation is to start by finding local bar leagues that have weekly freeroll tourneys. This is a good way to start getting a feel for live action poker. Also, read a bunch of books. I recommend anything by Skalansky, Melmuth, Miller, or Caro. I don’t care how much you play or how good you THINK you are. You will pick up amazingly valuable tips.
Once you feel comfortable, take $ 100 to a casino and find a $ 1/$ 2 no limit game. This will give you a feel for how good you are against other players who most likely have more experience than you. As you progress and build your bankroll, start playing 2/5NL and eventually 5/10NL. Remember, never buy-in for more than you can afford to lose.

Certainly possible at any table if the stakes are high enough. Remotely possible even at low stakes if the casino has a bad-beat or other such jackpot and you happen to hit it when it’s been building a while.
