My friend at work keeps playing poker at the casino.. He asks if i can cover his night shifts sometimes because he is hot playing poker and gives me 0-0 to cover his 4-5 hour shift at work when he is not there.. Should i keep doing this to make money off of him?? Would you guys do it if your boss never found out?

If he’s giving you money for your time, I don’t see the problem.

If he wasn’t (because he kept losing or telling you he’ll pay you next time), that would be a problem.

He’s obviously making enough to pay you and make enough for himself that it’s worth it for him.

Well if you are comfortable with it than yes, but make sure you don’t get in trouble for it.

If you are covering his shift and getting his work done, I don’t see the problem. As long as your job is not in jeopardy.

He is out making money at the casino, you are getting a cash bonus. As long as you don’t mind doing it, everyone is a winner.

The only possible problem I can see is it sounds like you are ‘covering for him’ by punching in/out for him, rather than merely taking his shift by punching in/out as yourself. That’s borderline (at least) fraud and, at best, is likely to get you both fired should the manager find out. (The IRS is likely to take a very dim view of that as well.)
