Is Poker really beatable with Talent and no luck?
Question by Thats_me: Is Poker really beatable with Talent and no luck?
I am trying to find out a card game that can be beaten by talent not luck. I know Black jack can be beaten by Card counting but casinos now a days doesn’t allow card counting.
Also, i have heard in poker casinos don’t really care since we play against each other and not the casino… True?

Yes. A great talent player will know when to bluff, call, raise, and sit to intimidate and throw off other players. You could win the game getting a pair of 2′s every hand.

Yes, it is, but it would take a very long time to learn the skills needed, a lot of equipment to carry through the deed and is illegal in most casinos, so I won’t go into more details. Hope this helped. ( And yeah, you could go back to the old days when all you needed to win was your smarts. If you’re good at risk-assessment and have a good poker-face, this is achieveable. )
Winning at Poker is about studying the gamd and listening to advice. Waiting for good cards, patience, aggression and bravery.
Yes, You may get beat by some bad hands here and there but there is substitute for talent and skill. You can be very successful that way. Good Luck
You can’t win at poker without any luck (unless your opponents have none either).
Talent wins out in the long run, but that’s of little comfort if you are getting sucked out on left and right.
If you’re looking for a card game which is profitable, it’s poker.
But it takes a GREAT deal of discipline, self-restraint, smarts, table aggression, observation, a ton of patience, and the will to learn how to play poker well. Nine out of ten Internet poker players end up going broke because they don’t have the will to learn how poker shoud be played. Also, bad players think poker is a game of luck, and I see that everyday when they treat poker like a lottery and lose all their money on the table.
For me, poker is 80% skill and 20% luck. Remember luck is borrowed, not owed. So yes there is an element of luck, but if you learn the elements that make a good poker player, you can absorb the impacts of bad luck and still come out on top in the long run. Notice that I said in the long run. This means you won’t win every or even most poker games you sit at, but in the long run you’ll always make a profit. When it comes to poker, the best decision always wins – in the long run.
You’ll need to learn about poker odds, bank roll management (very important), aggresion, selective bluffing, exploiting players’ tendencies, mixing up your game, setting a table image, and other important topics that make good players.
So if you can do all this, you’ll make money playing poker. How do you think there’s professional poker players but not professional lottery players?
About the casino: dealers do care, they will watch for cheating and will have their eyes on every action at the table. Also, the way a casino makes money from hosting poker games (even online) generally is through a rake, which is that the casino keeps a small percentage of each pot. But yes, you do play against other players for most poker games in casinos.
You should learn how to play No Limit Texas Hold ‘Em poker. This is the most common poker variant in the world. Watch games on TV or YouTube, and read about poker skills. A lot.
Finaly, if you’re going to start playing at low stakes tables or microstakes (the cheapest tables available), keep in mind you’re going to be playing against a lot of HORRIBLE players all the time, and they’ll make you lose money if you’re not careful. Just learn how to play well and you’ll make it to the higher stakes tables with better players eventually.
p.s. If you’re thinking about winning money by cheating, you’ll probably have to do it in informal games like at your house and whatnot. Casino dealers will most often catch you, and even online there’s guidelines about reporting players whom you suspect might be cheating
true that casinos have no care coz players are against each other and the casino is just sort of a tool
poker can be beaten with talents – very true – coz even the opponent holds the best card in the game by talent you can make him fold
but somewhat people with no talents could win – well i say that’s luck
Luck will only take you so far unless you happen to have immense amounts of it…even then, getting great cards all the time will not pay you off as much as possible without knowing how to make the most of them…that’s what all-in idiots online never seem to learn.
Online poker sites don’t care. Besides there are many talents involved with poker. Luck is good to have but not necessary to become a top poker player.

you can have all the talent in the world, but if you keep drawing dead then it doesn’t do much good, you need luck to catch cards..
Poker is the best chance you have at winning in a casino as you are playing against other players and not the House (which they stack the odds in their favor).
There is some luck involved in poker, however strategy does go a long way. The best example I can find of this is when Annette Obrestad won a poker tournament without looking at her cards and playing basic strategy based on her position.
Luck is needed in the dealing of the cards but you can still win with just pure talent. A great player knows what to do even if he is dealt with bad cards.
1. Poker is definitely beatable.
2. There is no luck in poker in the long run.
in long enough period the luck factor is almost 0
