Question by Xavier Charles: If a professional poker player went to the 1-2 casino tables ?
If a pro poker player went to the 1-2 blind casino tables would he be almost guaranteed to make money every time he went ?????????

Let’s say he had 4 or 5 buy ins every single time he went there..

No, nobody can win everytime. Some nights the cards just don’t let you win no matter how good you are. Sometimes you flop middle set and run into top set. Sometimes you flop the bottom end of the straight and run into a higher straight. He would win a lot more times than he wins and make money but it is impossible to win everytime at any level.

Of course not. First of all, he would know to play much tighter at a 1/2 table than what he is used to playing. 2nd of all, he knows that know matter how well he played, sometimes he would lose. That’s just the nature of poker. He would very easily be able to beat the game in the long run. Perhaps he’d win 4 out of every 5 sessions that he played. That would be a great accomplishment.

The key thing about a Pro.. Is they adjust to their surroundings.. The other players at the table no matter what the limits. I read an article by Jennifer Harman and she is a Great tournament player but used to grind out a nice living on the 3-6 limit games. Like it has been said here.. No one wins all the time. But a Pro sitting at a 1-2 limit game would be a tuff opponent.

Just confirmed, Both are very different from each other.

No definitely not “almost guaranteed”. But he’d win a significant majority of his sessions for sure. The percentage would depend on the average length of the session. The longer the session, the greater his chance of finishing ahead.
