But if you check out:
www.zone.com

And search “texas holdem” there is an online multiplayer poker game there that occasionally has prizes.
But you need to have a hotmail account or Microsoft ID.

Question by neilm33: Used Credit Card for Online Poker–Casino locked my account?
About 1 month ago I used my credit card to buy poker chips online. Since then I have been winning some and losing some, but overall winning and even cashed out a small ammount from the Casino.

About a week ago the site locked my account because they think I was colluding with another play which is not true. I’ve tried negotiating with the Casino but they are convinced that I was teaming up with another player. They are basing their claim on about 1 hour of play where the other player and I sat at the same table and were only involved in 4 hands together.

They locked my account with over 20k USD in it, but nearly 10k of that was the money I had deposited with my CC(via a known 3rd party processor). My credit score is very good (around 750) or so and there is no way in hell I’m losing 10k of my own money on top of being robbed another 10k that I won. How do I explain this to my CC? I don’t want to get them in trouble for violating the UIEGA act, I just want them to get their money.

I play on Poker Stars and Pacific Poker. Pacific Poker has a nice variety of tournaments, only problem is, they are ALL Texas Hold Em. Poker Stars, on the other hand, holds razz, 2-7 Triple Draw, 5 Card Draw, Omaha, Omaha Hi/Lo, 7 Card Stud, 7 Card Stud Hi/Lo, HORSE and SHOE. While they have an excellent variety, there’s not a lot of quantity of each of these tournaments and sit-n-go’s. Are there any sites where these or other poker variations are held and have decent traffic?
Poker Stars has an immense volume, I agree. But I’ve never seen an Omaha sit-n-go fill up (granted, they only offer 45 seaters), not to mention a Razz, 7 Card Stud or HORSE sit-n-go.
I’ve sat waiting for a low buy-in Omaha sit-n-go to fill up for 3 hours. It got about 6 players by the time I called it quits and went to bed.
I checked Ultimate Bet. They offer fewer variations and fewer tables, but yes, they do offer Omaha, Omaha hi/lo, 7 Card Stud and 7 Card Stud hi/lo.

If you don’t think PokerStars has a large enough volume of traffic you’re pretty much out of luck. They are by far the largest site on the net. You’ll have to play smaller buy-in S&Gs if you’re looking for steadier traffic on Stars, there should be plenty of cheap ones.
Play more table stakes instead of S&Gs and tournaments. Not only is there plenty of action in every form of poker this way, it’s also good to mix up your play between stakes and tourneys as the play and strategies are so much different and it’s good to get experience in both formats.

The closest thing I know of is the Harrah’s Casino in Cherokee NC, South Carolina currently does not allow any legal poker. There is a bill that has been introduced several times to legalize home games however it has not passed and is on hold for now until the next session in 2010.

is there a retail boxed casino/poker game which has both an on line and off line component without requiring a monthly subscription?

one that can be played to advance in off line tournaments for fun and played on line to practice with real people?

Based on my past experiences I can tell that most of these games should be played online only. The reason is very similar. Player activity should be tracked properly. Every action (even free play activity) a player takes gets recorded. In case the player is not connected to the datatbase through the internet activity cannot be logged.
